Removing items from cmus library12/5/2023 To play my library casually I'll use dolphin and either use its player or paste files or an album into VLC. Indexing a 2TB dataset with baloo isn't something I want to do. If it supports multiple libraries I couldn't figure it out, it appears to want to combine paths to multiple libraries into a single aggregated view? When I was testing it, making playlists the "add" and "replace" buttons are side by side and more than twice I accidentally blasted whole playlists by inadvertently clicking "replace" when I intended to "add", quite vexing as "replace" has no confirm or failsafe, it just happily nukes the playlist you just spent half an hour on. It doesn't provide list and detailed list views where most players would. It doesn't populate the artist view images, just page after page of placeholders. I'll need to live with one at some point I guess!Įlisa is utterly unreliable indexing a library (baloo or native, doesn't matter), it misplaces stuff or just skips it outright. I think Lollypop has so far been my favorite Linux native media player for its UI + features like song of the day, but it has its own share of oddities. I think Elisa would be a lot more appealing to me personally if it had a interface (option?) that just disregarded playlist functionality and worked more like a traditional media player, but I understand that simplicity is the goal so is unlikely to change like this. Which is unfortunate for situations where an album has a non-song intro track where I'd like to just click the second song and have it play the rest without having to finagle with a playlist I don't want to mess with. If you clicked into an album to double click on that song or click the play button next to that song, it will stop and not continue to the rest of the album. Double clicking a song in the interface doesn't play the song, it adds it to the playlist instead. It's VERY focused around playlist design and so a lot of behaviors with streaming apps, local music players like iTunes, and the like have me trained with behaviors which dont apply on itĮ.g. I've been trying to use Elisa just to get the full KDE user experience, but the UX for me just seems odd.
